Facebook has birthed a new breed of star gazers. As a 20 year old girl who doesn't know how to use a telescope, I'm the last person you would expect to know about an eclipse.
I found out about it this morning through my Facebook events. One of my friends had invited me a few weeks ago and I received notification of the solar eclipse as it was happening this morning.
As it turns out, Florida was in the moon's penumbra for this eclipse so I wasn't able to see much, but I was still made aware of a world event through Facebook.
