has been gaining momentum in their “bump” mobile technology and APIs. Their data exchange platform has now launched an API for the Android and iPad, with one of its most appealing attributes being that it works across multiple platforms. What does this mean for you?
You can bump your iPhone to another person’s Android phone and exchange information.
The concept of their technology is simple: open the Bump app, select what you would like to exchange (phone numbers, photos, or compare friends) and tap the two phones together. Open in private beta for the Android, for all of you iPad developers the API is currently open as an extension to the iPhone API - so you can start developing immediately.
Featured in The New York Times, Mashable and VeatureBeat, Bump appears to have a bright future ahead of them. The app was built with security top of mind and they appear to have a solid management team.
Although iPads are fairly small and compact, I’m not sure how comfortable I would feel bumping iPads together though; seems a bit awkward. What do you think about the concept? Regardless, the technology definitely seems worth trying.
