Keeping Up With Mobile Business
It's no surprise that the accessibility and convenience of technology has changed the shopping experience. Amazon and E-bay are perfect examples. However, businesses are only beginning to realize the importance of mobile phone technology for increasing sales revenue as well as customer satisfaction. A recent study from Brand Anywhere and Luth shows that over 50 percent of shoppers are more likely to purchase from companies with mobile-specific websites.
Apparently retailers have not caught on to the trend however, as the study also found that mere 4.8 percent of retailers have one. If these companies were to provide a mobile-specific website, researchers of the study state that their consumer interaction would increase by 85 percent.
Consumers aren't just using their mobile phones to purchase products either. Shoppers now utilize apps and mobile websites to comparison shop and find store hours and locations. Another study conducted by Accenture found that 73 percent of individuals with mobile phones prefer using the phone to complete simple in-store tasks and only 15 percent prefer actual interaction with an employee. Mobile technology is indeed changing the shopping experience. More and more, mobile technology is not a trend that businesses can afford to ignore.
