Enhancements to Facebook Page Insights

Calling all Facebook Page admins…

Have you explored the latest Facebook Page Insights? Facebook’s reporting feature has been revamped and now includes advanced reporting to really give Facebook Page admins a better grasp on their community.

Here is a highlight on what some of these new metrics mean:

Total Likes = The number of unique people who like your Page.

Friends of Fans = The number of unique people who are friends with your fans.

People Talking About This = The number of unique people who have created a story about your Page in the last 7 days. These stories include liking your Page, posting to your Page’s Wall, liking, commenting or sharing one of your Page Posts, answering a Question you posted, RSVPing to one of your events, mentioning your Page, photo tagging your Page, checking in at your Place, recommending your Place.

Weekly Total Reach = The number of unique people who have seen any content associated with your Page (including any Ads or Sponsored Stories pointing to your Page) in the last 7 days.

One of my preferred metrics right now is, “People Talking About This”. Since both fans and non-fans can see this metric displayed on a Page, it really makes the need for community engagement front and center. How many fans are you losing because they saw a small number? This metric pushes for valuable content that gets the community responding.

Which new reporting metric have you benefited from the most? How did it help you improve your Facebook community?
