Using Dropbox for File Sharing & Online Backup

For those of us who tend to use more than one computer or use multiple computers at various locations, occasionally syncing your files becomes a bit of a challenge. I’ve turned to a website, Dropbox.com, to answer this problem for me. Dropbox allows you to sync your files online and across multiple computers automatically. I’m currently using the site for a project that includes the transfer of large files on a frequent basis, and the service has been a pleasure to use.

Dropbox provides the ability to use the service as an online backup, the ability to access your files via the web, mobile device access and most importantly, military grade encryption methods to both transfer and store your data. The basic package is free for up to 2GB. You can pay for additional space of up to 50GB at $9.99/month or up to 100GB at $19.99/month.

Dropbox has won awards from MacWorld Eddy Awards, the Crunchies for Best Internet App and PC Magazine Editors’ Choice.
